Genewize Life Sciences officially launched Aug. 1, 2008 with best-selling author and economist, Paul Zane Pilzer, at the opening ceremonies in Orlando, FL. Pilzer stated, "Seven years ago, I predicted that we would someday have customized nutrition according to our individual DNA makeup. Genewize Life Sciences has arrived 3 years ahead of my schedule."
Pilzer further commented that affluent baby-boomers, by nature, desire customized, and personalized products. Whether it is a customized Harley Davidson, a individually tailored suit, a personal one-on-one health trainer, or customized dream home. Now, claims Pilzer, the baby boomers can actually have individually formulated nutrition based upon the hard science of their unique DNA reading.
Many believe that Genewize, the marketing arm of GeneLink (GNLK), is poised to become the next producer of multi-million dollar earners in the network marketing arena. Apparently the belief has attracted stock investors, in less than three months, the stock (GNLK) shot up from 6 cents per share to 55 cents per share by the opening launch on Aug. 1. Behind the surge of investing and affiliate activity (over 5000 unique distributors in less than two months of operation), is the feeling that Genewize is literally creating an entirely new category of product that will make old-school one-size-fits-all multi-vitamins obsolete, possibly even embarrassingly out-dated, in the years ahead.
Due to the entirely personalized nature of the product, this author believes that there will be a deep sub-conscience addiction (albeit a healthy addiction) to getting on the product, and staying on the product. "How could I go back to a Centrum multi-vitamin that my Grandpa takes when I have a unique formulation designed to support my unique DNA deficiencies? Oh yeah, and because I showed four of my friends about it, and they bought, I get this stuff for free...so it's cheaper than Centrum anyway." This kind of ethos among consumers and distributors will provide the emotional and psychological juice that equates to long-term purchase commitments (aka "lifelong pill-popping') required to create the residual income network marketers drool over. Thus, the glue that keeps the residual checks coming will actually be the product, not just the check. This is like a refreshing breeze in the multi-level marketing industry.
So, will Genewize become the next Amway, or Monavie? My opinion is that it will operate from a different paradigm. Due to the exclusive product-centric nature of the "opportunity", I predict the customer base will be broader, and the word of mouth will have more sizzle, than that of any soap, or juice, company.
