Garlic is also a diaphoretic, as is Ginger and can be used as a stimulant. To help relieve stress and aid the bodies immune system Ginseng is widely used.
Lavender in tea or other foodstuffs, deserts etc can offer anti depressant qualities, Mustard works as a tonic and a diuretic. Another herb that can help with the menopause is Thyme.
Building these into your diet, Drinking Lavender, Evening Primrose or chamomile Tea will help to calm the high stress levels that can occur during the menopause.
Headaches are a common symptom during menopause, Ginger can help cure these headaches. A Candy type form of Ginger can be purchased from various high street stores and on line suppliers.
A lot of foods contain, thyme, mustard, garlic and basil, the secret is to be adventurous and creative in the kitchen, mixing herbs with butter and use in frying or adding these herbs to your food. Look up recipes containing these herbs. Use them to flavour meats, poultry and pasta. Do not be frightened to experiment.!
The menopause can be really hard to cope with at times, and not every treatment will work for every woman.
