Quality
When evaluating your chemical manufacturer, you need to make sure that they are providing you with the quality that you desire. Your requirements need to be met and they need to comply with all regulations and laws that may be in force.
If at any time you are in doubt of the quality provided by the personnel in the plant, you should feel comfortable enough to ask to speak with a manager and review their ISO9001:2000. Reputable companies will have no problems disclosing this document to you, and discussing any concerns you may have.
Most companies are involved in ongoing training to assure that their quality of product, and customer service are always up-to-date. When you see that a company invests in this type of training you can feel confident that they are willing to invest in a very important asset, customer satisfaction.
Environmentally Friendly
If you have any questions, feel free to contact a manager at the manufacturing company to speak about any questions or concerns you may have about their processes. They will be more than willing to discuss these concerns with you.
Even though you may want your project done in a timely manner, you don't want it done in a hasty fashion that may cause injury to any of the plant's employees. While this may not initially come across as environmental, working in a safe environment certainly would be considered to be so.
You want to make sure that the plant assesses their impact on the environment and that they have reduced it to its lowest practical level. If they don't currently have it at its lowest possible level, are they seeking ways to get it there?
Is the plant compliant with all regulations and rules that are in force? This question is something that needs to be answered positively. It would be unwise to do business with a company who does not follow through with laws and regulations.

Any time you have a concern with your chemical manufacturer, contact them. It is important to have an open and honest communication with the companies you do business with. They are there to work with you and for you in everything you do, use them.
