Is it safe to just put a supplement powder in your mouth then drink water?
I take Glutamine, and I take a small scoop 5g. I usually just put the powder in my mouth drink some water swish it in my mouth and drink it. Then i usually drink water throughout my workout.
That is perfectly fine. Just make sure you get sufficient water afterwards, which you said you do. No problem at all.
You should consider a fully balanced whey protein powder instead though. You are missing out on essential amino acids by only taking glutamine.
I suggest Higher Power whey protein (really cheap)
or
Optimum Nutrition 100% whey in chocolate flavors.
